We have had the pleasure of Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi begin a  relationship with us this term. We were delighted to have the head chef and head patissiere join us in a couple of our lessons. The pictures showsChef Christian demonstrating how to dice an onion to an attentive audience at AKTI.

Students working towards an NOCN award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development had the privilege of showing their learned skills and equally, learning invaluable skills from the masters!  The pictures show students making a shortcrust pastry for beef patties with Chef Rasika.

Hamda has continued to do work experience at Al Karamah School, working with students in a Tiny Sparkles class. She is developing the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things.  Hamda is also learning about the ability to work well with others. Well done to Hamda for her amazing work.

Ayesha has a passion for Art and she has recently been given the opportunity to do work experience as an Art Teaching Assistant at Al Karamah School. Ayesha worked very well with the students, she supported them to create an octopus using modelling clay. It was particularly impressive that Ayesha was able to adapt her instructions based on the communication needs of each student. Ayesha is making a fantastic contribution to art lessons in the school.

There has been some fantastic  progress happening in the café this year. Students have been working towards completing an ASDAN award in hospitality, using the StarFish app to teach  and assess barista and customer service skills. Many students have become valuable members of the café team and are beginning to work towards paid, fulltime employment. We have started to arrange interviews and longer shifts for students ready for the challenge!

Three students from the Training Institutes have completed work experience at Boss Bunny Games. We have continued to develop our relationship with  them this year with the view of planning further work experience opportunities in the future.
