Hamad’s communication skills have improved significantly through his work experience at Mubadala. With adaptations, he is also able to use different software, send emails and take phone calls; this are skills which have integrated very well into his day-to-day life and schooling. He really enjoys his placement and would like to work at Mubadala full time.
Employability
At AKTI we deliver Employability skills which will provide learners with the skills, attributes and behaviours that are needed to enter and succeed in the world of work. We focus on personal development linking in literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills. There are also focus areas on work related units to help the learners develop sector specific skills.
The students participate in the following units to gain an Award in Employability skills:
- Action planning to improve performance
- Building confidence and self esteem
- Following instructions in the workplace
- Using ICT equipment in the workplace
